Lawrence J. Movshin is retired from the practice of law. Mr. Movshin spent more than 43 years representing the communications interests of system licensees, major equipment manufacturers, trade associations and private users. He provided both transactional and regulatory advice to applicants and system licensees in their formation, regulatory proceedings and ongoing business activities, including the financing of a variety of wireless telecommunications systems. In recognition of his long service and significant contributions to the growth and development of the wireless telecommunications industry, Mr. Movshin was inducted in 2015 into the Wireless History Foundation’s Wireless Hall of Fame.

During his long career, Mr. Movshin assisted clients in navigating the full range of federal and state regulatory issues associated with many of the most significant wireless industry consolidations. He had extensive experience in spectrum leasing and other transactions in the secondary market and he has been recognized as an expert on the regulatory requirements and restrictions associated with the FCC’s spectrum auction procedures and policies. In addition, he worked on a variety of transactions outside of the telecommunications industry associated with the acquisition of numerous different business interests and financing circumstances. Mr. Movshin has written numerous articles and was a frequent speaker at trade seminars and bar associations on transactional issues involving spectrum acquisitions and system sales.

Mr. Movshin held several leadership roles in the Federal Communications Bar Association, as well as the FCBA’s charitable and educational foundation. A former co-chair of the FCBA’s Professional Responsibility Committee, Mr. Movshin was a regular speaker at FCBA seminars on the application of the Rules of Professional Responsibility to the specialized communications law practice. He was also recognized by his peers through top ratings in Best Lawyers in America and Washington DC Super Lawyers.
